Docs is now available for everyone

Docs is out of beta and available for all Dovetail users. What started as Insights has evolved into a format for your entire workspace—a way to create, organize, and share work, not just inside projects.
The bigger shift is what a Doc can hold: Docs aren't just for findings—the same container will be able to set workspace context, project context, and contain the skills and knowledge Dovetail AI draws on. A Doc isn't a document inside a project; it's the flexible foundation for context across your whole organization, for people and agents alike.
- Insights renamed to Docs—every Insight in your workspace is now a Doc. Same content, same structure, same place.
- Create a Doc from chat—when chat returns an answer worth saving or sharing, turn it into a Doc in one click. Your findings move from conversation to a persistent, shareable document without leaving chat.
- Docs anywhere—Docs can now be created at the workspace level and organized into folders, not just inside projects. Create, move, or copy Docs across folders and projects.
- Private by default—new workspace Docs are private until you choose to share them. Share with a specific person, your team, or your whole workspace when you're ready. Project Docs follow project permissions.
- Personal Insights moved to Browse—any Insights from your personal space have moved to the Browse table as private Docs. They're still yours, still private, and now live alongside the rest of your workspace content.
- Version history—Docs saves a version snapshot automatically whenever you stop editing for 20 seconds. Browse previous versions and restore any of them from the More menu. Restored versions become the current version.
- UX improvements—comments, tables, and formatting have all been updated to make Docs a more capable editor for long-form work.
