Friends of Figma Sydney: Who’s accountable now? Leading when the agents do the work

Friends of Figma Sydney’s annual Tech Leaders event closes out 2026 at Dovetail’s Surry Hills office, with a panel on who owns the outcome when agents do the work.

Agents moved past the demo stage this year. They write code, triage customer feedback, and run processes end to end. For anyone leading product, design, or engineering, that raises a sharper question about accountability, judgment, and trust.

Four tech leaders take it on from different seats:

What the panel will cover

• Handing off the work—how much of building software can really go to agents
• Where people still matter—taste, judgment, and point of view
• Changing roles—what happens to teams when people shift from doing the work to steering it
• Earning trust—what organizations and their customers need before they trust AI with real work

Who it’s for

Leaders across product, design, engineering, and AI. The panel is half the night. The other half is dinner with peers from across Sydney working through the same questions in their own teams, with tapas on arrival, paella and gelato after the talk, and swag to take home.

• Registration: approval-based. You’ll join a waitlist, and spots are confirmed based on capacity.
