References are now static, point-in-time snapshots

We’ve made a significant improvement to how references behave in Dovetail. Adding a reference to an insight will now create a point-in-time snapshot of the object, so that if the underlying data is modified or deleted, it will remain unchanged.

You can now be assured that the content within your insights is just as you intended them to be, even if the original has been modified.

Additionally, this change also brings faster loading times for your insights and quicker search results!

• You can now add and edit field options, as well as navigate to linked projects on the workspace fields page.
• Fixed a bug that was preventing text input within a modal when adding a reference to an insight
• Fixed a bug where tags could not be created using the bulk actions menu on a table view
• Fixed a bug that prevented ‘copy text to clipboard’ button from working
• Updated the action menu for projects and folders for easier navigation
• Help center search now surfaces Dovetail Academy lessons
• Insight titles are now prefilled as the description when using our Productboard integration
• We’ve improved empty note and insight states so they now feature prompt cards that help you import your data
• Improved billing page to display more in-depth views of your current plan, and upcoming invoice
