Founded in 2017 by Benjamin Humphrey and Bradley Ayers, Dovetail has 100+ employees across offices in Sydney and San Francisco. We've created a unique environment to help us achieve our challenging mission. A culture that aspires to excellence, where nothing is too small to be improved.
We’re all about taking big bets, sweating the details on delightful experiences, and tackling ambitious technical and business challenges, so there’s a huge opportunity for your work to have a massive impact and for you to develop insight into all of the pieces that go into scaling revenue at a high-growth software company.
Join our Growth team. You’ll partner closely with your Engineering manager and designer to ship high-leverage features and ideas that are massive force-multipliers for our business.
Deliver high-quality software design. You’ll work closely with your tech lead and engineers to identify, define, design, and implement technical solutions for Dovetail’s web product, including both frontend and backend development, to create meaningful value for our business.
Think strategically to optimize for impact. You’ll need to think strategically through business opportunities, customer needs, and technical challenges to focus on the highest-leverage ideas. You’ll leverage data to identify areas where improvements can be made, and use this to inform the projects you work on.
You’ll collaborate with your team to sweat the details. You’ll share our passion for quality and you’ll be involved in practices and rituals like code review, pair programming, design sparring, planning, retrospectives, and more.
Foster a culture of pragmatism. You’ll maintain and foster a pragmatic approach to software development whilst also working with senior engineers in the establishment of detailed guidelines and standards for product development processes based on industry best practices and your experience.
Be customer-obsessed. You’ll understand our customers and their journey and pain points to identify optimization opportunities to drive scalable growth. You take a holistic view across the customer lifecycle, and you get energy from creating delightful, cohesive experiences that drive business outcomes.
Extensive experience building web products. You’ll have hands-on exposure to building the frontend and backend of web products with technologies like TypeScript, React, GraphQL, Node, PostgreSQL, and AWS.
A working understanding of high-growth B2B SaaS products. You’re passionate about building products, startups, and businesses, have an understanding of product-led growth strategies and ideally have seen their implementation before.
Experience managing software projects. You’ll have the ability to own the delivery of complex features, break down requirements and provide reasonable estimates.
You are pragmatic and flexible. Like your new teammates, you’re used to doing what’s necessary to get the job done. You’ll need to be comfortable with ambiguity, be resourceful to solve problems, and be able to adjust to shifting deadlines and project goals.
Excited by the numbers and driven by impact. It’s not about new tech or features in growth but the business outcomes, you are excited about the team's ability to affect change on key business metrics.
You thrive in ambiguity. The growth team works across a massive landscape and thus you’re not afraid of context shifting and are able to dive into new areas of the code, and learning new technologies.
A great attitude. The right attitude towards a sense of urgency, risk, and uncertainty about the future that comes with working at an early-stage startup. This is an opportunity to be involved in an exciting journey from the very start.
