15 small improvements

Happy new year and welcome to 2026!

We’ve been busy in the first week of the year shipping dozens of small features, squashing bugs, and improving the performance and reliability of Dovetail.

Here are 15 small improvements we made this week:

• You can now set a custom title for dashboard widgets

• We’ve released a faster and more reliable Search API available at /api/v2/search

• Channels theme classification now uses Claude Sonnet 4.5 for improved theme quality

• Agents now remember what they did previously, reducing duplication in outputs

• Metadata is now shown on data, highlights, and docs cards in board view

• We now display the user’s name on the colored real-time cursors in the editor

• Bullet, number, and todo lists can now be merged together again if split in the middle

• Bullet lists now have new styling to differentiate different levels

• Users invited to a workspace now have their name set automatically when signing up via SSO

• Single and multi-select fields now correctly respect the ‘wrap columns’ setting in table view

• When inside a table, hitting Tab and Shift + Tab will now move you between cells

• You can now type /doc to quickly create and insert a new linked doc inside the doc editor

• Fixed an issue where the canvas ‘following’ banner was hidden behind the page header

• Fixed an issue where copying and pasting a todo list wouldn’t work properly

• Chat will no longer include citations that are smaller than 15 characters
