Enforce data retention periods
Comply with data policies and protect your customers’ data by setting up custom data retention periods. These can be set up by admins of Enterprise workspaces.
Admins can enforce retention periods at the workspace level and at the project-level.
When setting a custom retention period, Dovetail will auto-delete raw video in notes, but maintain any highlight, reels, or transcripts generated from the video itself.
Working with custom data retention
Create a predictable schedule for deleting old video/audio data across all project data in the workspace by setting a period at the workspace level.
Deleting all data across a workspace
To set a default workspace-level period, go to ⚙️ Settings > Data retention.
From there, go to Data retention period and set the workspace time period.
Deleting data from a specific project
To set project-level period, open a project and navigate to Project Settings (⚙️) from the Project menu.
From there, go to Data retention and set the workspace time period for your project. You will also be able to see any upcoming deletions from this page.

Set a default retention period for the workspace. This will automatically apply to all data across the workspace and help create a predictable schedule for data deletion.
