Senior Adjunct Lecturer and CEO, Rival
I have practiced as a Designer and Manager for over a decade. I have co-founded several businesses. My professional design experience spans several verticals, including: health, urban technology, construction, travel, enterprise technology, transport (rail), real estate and consumer electronics. I have worked on projects with PayPal, NSW Health, Transport for NSW, Downer, Virgin Australia, Raine & Horne, Bunnings and The University of Technology, Sydney. I help organisations design innovative solutions to complex and difficult problems. I actively teach and mentor teams to help them achieve their goals. In addition to my work as a consultant, I am currently undertaking research at The University of Sydney as part of my PhD candidature. I also lecture at both UTS (Industry Fellow) and USYD (Senior Lecturer of Practice) in various design subjects, and have contributed to the second edition of Design. Think. Make. Break. Repeat. I have published at both national and international HCI venues. In my capacity as a Design Educator, I rewrote two subjects: Interaction Design Studio and Introduction to Interface Design. I have also lectured and/or tutored in: Design Process & Methods, Interface Design and UX Design Studio. At UTS I assisted in the creation of the course Advanced Interaction Design. In my spare time I love to surf, build things, fly planes, drive cars and ride motorbikes. I am a mentor for young designers at IxDA Sydney.
