Dovetail is the world’s leading AI-first customer intelligence platform, on a mission to improve the quality of every thing. We’re redefining what it means to be connected to your customer, giving everyone on the product team fast and easy access to customer insights at any point in the development lifecycle. In addition to building software to realize this goal, we also want to foster an inclusive and diverse community of customers who are as passionate as we are about our mission.
This Community Code of Conduct (the “Code”) describes the standards of behavior in community venues for Dovetail customers, partners, and enthusiasts to learn and collaborate in a respectful and professional manner, both online and in-person.
We are committed to providing a friendly, safe and welcoming environment for all, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, ability, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and religion. This Code outlines our expectations for all those who participate in our community, as well as the consequences for unacceptable behavior.
We expect all community participants to abide by this Code in all community venues, including online in our public Slack community, as well as in-person at events and other community gatherings that we may host or sponsor from time to time.
The following behaviors are expected and requested of all community members:
Participate in an authentic and active way. In doing so, you contribute to the health and longevity of this community.
Exercise consideration and respect in your speech and actions.
Attempt collaboration before conflict.
Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behavior and speech.
Be mindful of your surroundings and of your fellow participants. Alert community leaders or event hosts if you notice a dangerous situation, someone in distress, or violations of this Code, even if they seem inconsequential.
While we encourage attendees to be social and inclusive at events we host, we want to emphasize respecting fellow attendees at all times as well as members of the public that may also be sharing the event venue with us.
Practice responsible consumption of alcohol and be mindful of your impact on others.
The following non-exhaustive list demonstrates unacceptable behaviors within our community:
Violence, threats of violence, or violent language directed against another person.
Sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist, or otherwise discriminatory jokes and language.
Posting or displaying sexually explicit or violent material.
Posting or threatening to post other people’s personally identifying information (“doxing”).
Personal insults, particularly those related to gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, or disability.
Inappropriate photography or recording.
Inappropriate physical contact.
Unwelcome sexual attention, such as sexualized comments or jokes, inappropriate touching, groping, and unwelcome sexual advances.
Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following (online or in person).
Sustained disruption of community events, including talks and presentations.
Unauthorized solicitation to community members, such as spam, junk mail, advertising, etc.
Use information, conversations, or member lists gathered from the community for competitive analysis, product development, lead generation, or any other purpose that benefits a non-Dovetail business.
Encouraging, advocating for, enabling, or assisting in the performance of, any of the above behavior.
The Dovetail community is not a venue for commercial research or solicitation. If you are an employee, contractor, or representative of a third party (whether or not a Dovetail competitor), you are welcome to participate in constructive discussions in the community, but you may not:
Engage in any form of customer, prospect, or employee solicitation.
Conceal or misrepresent your affiliation when engaging in discussions about Dovetail, its competitors, or such third-party entity.
Post or share links to competing products or services unless it is: (A) directly relevant to a question, topic, or discussion in the community and (B) presented in a non-promotional manner.
Dovetail, in its sole discretion, will determine whether a violation of this Code has occurred. Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately and may also be asked to leave any event we are hosting.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, if a community member engages in unacceptable behavior, Dovetail reserves the right to take any action we deem appropriate, without notice. Such actions may include, but are not limited to, the removal of posted content, a temporary ban or permanent expulsion from the community, removal from an event without refund, etc.
If you have been subjected to or have otherwise witnessed unacceptable behavior which you believe violates this Code, please report it immediately to our community administrators and event organizers.
