Founded in 2017 by Benjamin Humphrey and Bradley Ayers, Dovetail has 100+ employees across offices in Sydney and San Francisco. We are looking for a Senior Finance Manager to join our team and help us achieve our ambitious goals.
Lead all aspects of accounting operations. This includes revenue accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of monthly results by overseeing the month end process, including ensuring timely and accurate completion of journals, accruals and reconciliations.
Manage financial and tax compliance. Ensure accuracy and timeliness of local and global tax reporting requirements.
Manage the Employee Share Scheme. This includes managing cap table, NTA valuations, and compliance with regulatory requirements of our Employee Share Scheme.
Develop and manage the company's financial strategy. This includes cashflow modelling, runway projections, the budgeting and forecasting cycles, preparing department budgets and identifying areas for improving cost management. Prepare information on SaaS metrics and insights for internal company events, board meetings, and shareholder information requests and requirements.
Lead treasury management. This includes managing inter-company funding, investing cash surplus, being involved in execution of future capital raises and participating in financial due diligence.
Developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures. You’ll drive continuous improvement and finance transformation opportunities including standardization and system automations.
Manage our team of Financial accountants. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the team’s performance by provide coaching, mentoring, feedback, and career development, as well as ensuring that expectations and roles are clearly defined.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams. You’ll work closely with our Product team to drive filings of R&D claims and support revenue operations with deal closure and quote-to-cash workflows. You’ll also coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors and outsourced service providers.
CPA qualified or equivalent. Experience in a senior financial control, finance manager and / or tax based role, including experience with an ERP system (e.g. Xero, Netsuite, MYOB) and revenue accounting. Experience in a high growth SaaS startup is desirable.
An outstanding communicator. You’ll be comfortable presenting complex financial issues to a wide non-financial audience in a clear and concise manner including the leadership team. You’re excellent at collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders and balancing complex and competing priorities.
Pragmatic problem solver and self-starter. You're able to zoom out and prioritise expertly. You'll understand that 'firefighting' is a reality of startups and not every problem is immediately solvable.
Incredible attention to detail. Financial accuracy is incredibly important, so you'll need to be thorough and precise when reviewing records or high volume transactions and preparing information for internal and external stakeholders.
A great people manager. You’ll have experience in leading and mentoring a team.
