We've created a unique environment to help us achieve our challenging mission. A culture that aspires to excellence, where nothing is too small to be improved. Our values are lived throughout every experience and the People and Talent Manager will play a critical role in supporting us through our next stage of growth working closely with the team in Sydney. We’re still a small team in San Francisco and this will be our first operational role, so you’ll also need to be happy to roll up your sleeves and support all aspects of the day to day running of our office.
You’ll build effective relationships with our Dovetailers. To develop great people initiatives you’ll need to understand our challenges and how we operate. You’ll focus on building great relationships and understanding the needs of our team to be able to support them.
Partner with leadership and people managers. You’ll be supporting and advising our team on all things people-related including employee experience, performance management and coaching, and organizational development. You’ll have a solid understanding of California employment laws to advise leadership and people managers.
You’ll build the best team. You’ll be responsible for hiring our San Francisco employees working closely with our Sydney Talent team. We have a high bar for talent so you’ll drive sourcing, video screening and arranging interviews.
You’ll create tailored people initiatives. We’re still an early stage company so we’re just beginning to building key People programs. You’ll work with the rest of the people team and leadership team to create and build programs across learning and development, performance management, employee experience, and compensation strategies.
Support onboarding our newest Dovetailers. We pride ourselves on making sure our employees have the smoothest start. You'll be supporting the onboarding process for SF based employees working closely with our Sydney People team, giving you a chance to set the tone for every new hire.
Build diversity, inclusion and belonging strategies. We’re building a culture at Dovetail where everyone can be themselves and do their best work. You’ll work with the people team and Dovetailers to drive impactful DEI&B initiatives.
Own all things office management. As our first dedicated People role in SF, you’ll wear many hats and will be in charge of making a great first impression for everyone who visits our office. No job is too small, from stocking the fridges and making sure we have plenty of snacks to managing our vendors and supporting with IT, you’ll ensure our SF office and services are working perfectly.
You’ll have experience building impactful people initiatives. You’ll have experience building and implementing people initiatives including employee experience and practices(policies), performance management, practices and rituals, compensation, and employee development and growth frameworks. You’ll also have experience in employee relations/conflict resolution.
You’ll have a good knowledge of California employment laws. You’ll be responsible for ensuring we’re compliant with state employment laws.
You’ll have experience working with both technical and non-technical functions. We’re a product-led company so you’ll have a deep understanding of different functions and the challenges the different functions face.
You’re a collaborator and can influence. You have the ability influence and coach leaders, and will have experience developing and leading organizational change initiatives.
You’re adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity. You’ll have the ability to manage competing priorities with a sense of urgency and the ability to pivot quickly based on the changing needs of our business.
You’re a creative problem-solver. You’re curious about people and organizational issues that help you drive creative solutions.
