Founded in 2017 by Benjamin Humphrey and Bradley Ayers, Dovetail has 100+ employees across offices in Sydney and San Francisco. We've created a unique environment to help us achieve our challenging mission. A culture that aspires to excellence, where nothing is too small to be improved.

We’re hiring an Executive Assistant to focus on supporting the CEO, and the rest of the Dovetail leadership team. As an EA at Dovetail, you will be invited into the conversation, be empowered to push back and “say no”, and will need to build context to ensure you grasp business priorities. You will also be privy to sensitive or confidential information and decisions, and need to earn trust and build a strong relationship with the founders and key stakeholders within and outside the organization.

Who you’ll work closely with

Benjamin Humphrey
Co-founder / CEO
Sascha Kerbert
Chief of Staff

What you’ll do

  • Have exceptional organizational skill. Manage professional scheduling for the CEO including meeting agendas, email prioritization, video calls, travel arrangements, customer visits, and other miscellaneous company logistics.

  • Ensure leadership team effectiveness. Although the primary responsibility is supporting the CEO, you will also provide additional administrative support to the leadership team including organizing offsite meetings as well as company wide events.

  • Build lasting, highly effective relationships. You are a real people person, building strong working relationships and gaining a deep understanding of the people you support and how best to do so.

  • Understand the importance of different priorities. Ensure the founders direct their time and attention to the most important thing at any given moment. You will need to have an understanding of what is “most important”.

Your background

  • High-quality bar and great attention to detail. You’re able to get into the details and deliver quality results on time, whether that’s copyediting the monthly founder update or working on the fine details on the slides for all-hands.

  • The ability to push back. You are comfortable making the call, pushing back, and saying ‘no’ to people requesting things. You’re not afraid of challenging the founders if you think they’re making the wrong decision or not using their time effectively.

  • Ambitious and keen to learn We’re in an incredibly quick moving environment, and we’ll look to you to roll up your sleeves and learn about new things from time to time to assist in keeping the business moving forward.

  • Communication is one of your superpowers. You are honest, thoughtful, and transparent. You have the ability to simplify discussions into concise one-liners to catch people up and you can build strong relationships with people across the team to be a trusted partner to all.

  • Great pragmatism and prioritization. You'll need to be comfortable with ambiguity, be resourceful to solve problems, and be able to adjust to shifting deadlines and project goals. You’re a wearer of many hats and can juggle multiple priorities at the same time.

At Dovetail, we’re passionate about building and fostering an environment where every team member feels supported and valued. We celebrate individualism, welcoming everyone to show up as their authentic selves every day. It’s no secret that diversity builds the best teams, large or small, so we highly encourage applications from people who identify as part of an under-represented group.
